Don’t use welfare to buy cigarettes

Earlier, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini reminded all aid recipients not to use social assistance money to buy cigarettes.

This is a direct instruction from President Jokowi.

If a recipient of aid is caught buying cigarettes with welfare money, the government will not hesitate to conduct an assessment.

“We will discuss, if this mechanism occurs, then we will make an evaluation for the recipients of the aid. Because once again, don’t let this aid be for health but then there is a problem because it is used for cigarettes, ”said Risma.

Related to this, Risma continued, his party will prepare a tool to find out what beneficiaries spend with money from social assistance.

“We hope once again because it will affect the plans that the government has carried out, not later by buying cigarettes and then getting sick,” he said.
