TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – There is good news for government employees, also known as state officials. Starting next year, State Public Officials (ASN) will receive a minimum salary of 9 million IDR per month.
This amount is the salary for the ASN with the lowest rank. Meanwhile, ASNs with higher ranks will get even higher salaries.
The Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB), Tjahjo Kumolo, said that in 2021 the ASN allocations will increase.

“God willing, this year because there is a Covid-19 pandemic, we will also maximize ASN benefits. So the lowest ASN employee can be at least Rp. 9 to Rp. 10 million,” Tjahjo said at the Ministry of Religion’s ASN Cash Waqf Grand Launch on Monday (12/28/2020).
Tjahjo also emphasized that the increase in ASN allowances was not followed by an increase in base salary. This is because there is a plan provided by the government in the form of an increase in pension funds. The increase in pension funds has been calculated by Kemenpan RB with PT Taspen (Persero) or the Savings and Insurance Fund for Civil Servants.
“I think it is our duty in the PanRB and the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani) that it is impossible to increase the basic salary because it involves pensions. But we and our partner Taspen have calculated it well. There is a pension subsidy that will be increased.” said. he.
The increase in allocations will be enjoyed by 4.2 million ASN, 1 million government employees with a work contract (PPPK) among teachers, 260 health agents and around 100,000 extension workers.
“Hopefully through recruiting, the merit system, assignments, etc. can be arranged, we will record how many ASNs we need,” he said.
The government is finalizing a review of the ASN’s salary and benefits scheme. With the new scheme, the income of civil servants is no longer influenced by class and rank, but rather by job burdens and risks.
The acting head of the Office of Public Relations, Law and Cooperation of the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) Paryono said that the revision of the scheme had nothing to do with a salary increase. The change of scheme is part of the bureaucratic reform.
