Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Indonesia will certainly enter the brink of recession. This happened after Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati revealed the economic forecast for the third quarter of 2020.

According to him, the Finance Ministry had previously seen the economy in the third quarter at minus 1.1% to 0.2%. “And as of September 2020, this is minus 2.9% to minus 1.0%,” he said at a press conference for our September state budget on Tuesday (9/22/2020).

He said negative territory will take place in the fourth quarter. However, he said, the government continues to work to bring the figure closer to 0.

Previously, in the second quarter of 2020, the economy was also at minus 5.32%. If there are two consecutive negative economic quarters or a contraction, Indonesia will enter a recession.
