KThe increase in cigarette stocks in today’s trading was led by PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM), which managed to increase 7.56% to the price level of 640 Rp / unit. Previously, WIIM had soared as much as 10.52%.
Furthermore, for the cigarette stocks with the highest market capitalization on the stock exchange, PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) managed to occupy the second position after skyrocketing 3.06% to the price level of Rs 1,815 / pc.
At the start of trading, HMSP shares soared to 6.68% at the level of 1,915 IDR / unit
Meanwhile, another large capitalized cigarette stock in the market, namely PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), also managed to increase 3.78% at a price level of Rp 48,000 / unit. This morning, GGRM also managed to jump 4.99% through the 49.975 Rp / unit level.
The other two cigarette issuers, PT Bentoel International Tbk (RMBA), were up 3.74% to the 388 rupee level, and PT Indonesian Tobacco Tbk (ITIC) was up 0.53% at 950 rupees / unit share.
Just announced Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati finally decided to increase excise tax rates on cigarettes in 2021. The increase in excise taxes on cigarettes in 2021 is an average of 12.5 percent.
With this, the price of cigarettes may be more expensive in 2021 by up to 14%.

SKM 1: Rp 125 / Rod Increase or 16.9% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 865/Batang)
SKM IIA : Rp 65/Batang atau 13,8% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 535/Batang]
SKM IIIB: IDR 70 / rod or 15.4% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 525/Batang]
Regarding SPM or machine white cigarettes
SPM I: Rp 145 / Batang or 18.4% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 935/Batang]
SPM II A: IDR 80 / rod or 16.5% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 565/Batang]
SPM IIIB: IDR 470 / rod or 18.1% [Tarif Cukai 2021 Rp 555/Batang]
“So for an average of 12.5%, the increase is. For hand-rolled kretek cigarettes, it will not increase in 2021,” Sri Mulyani said.
