REMBANG, KOMPAS.com – The Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, or familiarly called Gus Yaqut, visited the residence of the Mustasyar Executive Council of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), KH Ahmad Mustofa Bisri (Gus Mus) at the Islamic boarding school Raudlatut Thalibin, Leteh, Rembang Regency, Central Java, Friday (12/25/2020) tomorrow.
In family genealogy, Gus Mus is the younger brother of Ayahanda Gus Yaqut, (deceased) KH Cholil Bisri, one of the founders of the National Awakening Party (PKB), who also served as MPR vice president.
Gus Yaqut approached his uncle for his blessings and advice for the performance of his duties as Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

“I asked for his advice on what I should do after gaining the president’s trust to be the minister of religion. Gus Mus are my parents now. Before that, I first made a pilgrimage to the grave of Abah and my ancestors, then came Gus Mus, “Gus explained. Yaqut.
Gus Yaqut received much wise advice from Gus Mus so that in the future he could carry out his mandate in the best possible way.
“Therefore, the first council should be a mandate, away from corrupt, collusive and other bad behavior,” he added.
Gus Mus’s next piece of advice, Gus Yaqut continued, was that he was asked to hug or invite everyone to join in having the same feelings towards Indonesia.

After visiting Gus Mus’s residence, Gus Yaqut continued to visit KH Ahmad Najieh (Gus Najieh) Sarang, Rembang and KH Bahauddin Nursalim (Gus Baha ‘) Kragan, Rembang.
For the two religious figures or ulama, the Minister of Religion also had the same goal, namely to ask for blessings and ask for important advice so that they could smoothly fulfill the mandate he had just completed as Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.
