jpnn.com, PANGANDARÁN – Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini said that the cash social assistance (BST) will not be extended until the end of April 2021.

BST has become an important instrument to restore the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There is no budget for that,” Risma said, while attending the 19th anniversary summit of Taruna (Tagana) disaster preparedness in Pangandaran, West Java, on Wednesday (3/31).

Risma said that one of the reasons for not extending BST was because the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Indonesia had moved to a microscale.

So, according to him, people should now be able to go back to their activities, in the hope that the situation of the economic movement in Indonesia will begin to normalize.

“For example, in the regions there are still residents who need help, they can still request it, then we will help them in the form of BPNT (non-cash food assistance),” Risma said.

Then people who need help will get BPNT welfare worth Rs 200,000.

Earlier, the expert staff of the Minister of Social Affairs for Social Accessibility, Sonny W Manalu, said that the BST funds from the Ministry of Social Affairs were only prepared until April 2021.
