Manchester United could not beat Leicester City. The Red Devils were very disappointed not to maintain excellence at the end of the game.

The Leicester vs MU duel in the Premier League Boxing Day match took place at the King Power Stadium on Saturday (12/26/2020). The two teams drew 1-1 in the first half.

MU opened the scoring first through Rashford’s goal in the 23rd minute. The Foxes scored a goal in the 31st minute through Harvey Barnes

In the second half, Bruno Fernandes scored in the 79th minute to regain MU’s lead. However, Jamie Vardy struck back six minutes later to make it 2-2.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was very disappointed that his team couldn’t win. He considered that MU failed to seize many golden opportunities.

“Disappointed we did not win today because we had many opportunities and we could finish, but it is a dangerous team, the goals of Jamie Vardy showed quality,” Solskjaer was quoted as saying by the BBC.

Despite his disappointment, Solskjaer paid tribute to Rashford’s goal. The 23-year-old forward previously missed a good opportunity before scoring.

“It was also a good goal from Marcus Rashford and I am happy that he scored a goal. He knows that the first chance is a good chance (about the first chances). Losing is only part of the game,” he continued.

“Both goals (from Leicester) should have been stopped earlier; the first was clear and the second we had to be able to stop the crosses. You always see goals conceded, what we should have done or could have done better.”

“One point is not the worst result, but we are disappointed not to score three points against a tough team,” he said.
