KOMPAS.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has canceled a series of long-distance train cancellations (KA).

Previously, several regular trains have been re-run for various purposes with the implementation of the Covid-19 preventive health protocol.

According to the Public Relations Manager of Daop 5 Purwokerto Supriyanto, there have been cancellations of 38 long-distance train trips that pass through stations in your area.

The cancellation of long-distance train trips is due to low passenger occupancy in recent days.

“Given the low passenger occupancy rate, KAI has again canceled several train trips,” Supriyanto said. Kompas.com, Monday (7/9/2020).

4 trains from Daop 5 Purwokerto

He added that four trains leaving from the Daop 5 Purwokerto area canceled their trips this September. The four long-distance trains are:

1. Train Purwojaya, Cilacap-Purwokerto-Gambir (round trip) which was canceled on September 8, 2020

2. KA Wijayakusuma Cilacap-Ketapang (round trip, canceled on September 4, 2020

3. Sawunggalih Morning Railway and Sawunggalih Night Railway Kutoarjo-Purwokerto-Pasarsenen (return trip), canceled on September 4, 2020

4. KA Logawa Purwokerto-Jember (round trip), which was canceled on September 4, 2020

Long distance train

Meanwhile, long-distance train trips through stations in the Daop 5 area are canceled for subsequent trains.

1. Argo Wilis train, Surabaya-Bandung relationship (round trip), which was canceled on September 8-11, 2020 and September 14-15, 2020

2. KA Argo Dwipangga, KA Argo Lawu, Solo-Gambir relationship (roundtrip), which was canceled from September 8-15, 2020

3. Connection KA Gajayana, Malang-Gambir (round trip), canceled from 7 to 15 September
2020

4. Mutiara Selatan Train, Surabaya-Bandung connection (round trip), which was canceled from September 4 to 15, 2020

5. Malabar Train, Malang-Bandung relationship, which was canceled from September 4-15, 2020

6. Pasundan Train, Surabaya-Bandung (round trip), which was canceled from September 4-15, 2020

7. KA Jaka Tingkir Purwosari-Pasarsenen (round trip), which was canceled from September 5 to 15, 2020

8. KA Progo, Lempuyangan-Pasarsenen (round trip), which was canceled from September 5 to 30, 2020

“So as of September 7, 2020 in the Daop 5 Purwokerto area, 38 train trips were canceled,” Supriyanto said.

At present, he continued, there are 39 local and long-distance trains in operation or 41 percent of the total of 93 regular passenger trains that pass, depart or end at Daop 5 Purwokerto stations.

However, the policy of cancellation and reactivation of train trips will continue to be evaluated and the evolution of the existing situation will be taken into account.

6 trains from Jakarta

On the other hand, the Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunnisa, explained that on Saturday (5/9/2020) six train trips were canceled.

The six long-distance trains are the Argo Dwipangga Railway, the Gajayana Railway, the Argo Parahyangan Railway, the Sembrani Railway, the Argo Lawu Railway, and the Taksaka Railway.

Eva said that the cancellation of the trip was made on trains that had the same purpose, with the argument of adjusting the operating pattern for the train’s operational effectiveness.

“Then the passengers who continue to depart will switch to other trains with the same destination,” Eva said on Monday (7/9/2020).

He added that the passengers affected by the cancellation had previously been contacted and informed about the alternatives offered by PT KAI.

According to him, travel adjustments during the pandemic will be evaluated in stages, so there is a reordering of schedules and trips for various train routes.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience experienced by customers due to the temporary suspension of various train trips,” he said.

Eva explained, passengers who decide not to change to another train will have their ticket fare 100 percent refunded.

Ticket refunds are made at all station counters, within a maximum of 30 days from the departure date.

He emphasized that people who want to use the rail mode of transportation can check schedules and order tickets through the KAI Access app, the KAI website and all official ticketing channels.

“Potential users can see which trains are operating. One of them is through the KAI Access app or the 121 hotline,” Eva said.
