Habib Attorney Bahar bin smith will file before the trial after your client establishes itself as suspect case of alleged abuse of a taxi driver online in Bogor, West Java, in 2018.

“Legally, we will consider taking a preliminary trial against the determination of the suspect,” Bahar bin Smith’s lawyer Azis Yanuar told reporters on Tuesday (10/27).


The alleged case against Bahar occurred in 2018. A dispute broke out between the founder of the Islamic boarding school Tajul Alawiyyin in Kemang, Bogor, and an online taxi driver named Andriansyah. As a result, Andriansyah made a police report on Bahar’s actions.

“So, in the case of 2018, there was peace and the withdrawal of the report. That this (case) shows real, there has been an attempt to criminalize Habib Bahar bin Smith,” he said.

In addition to pre-trial efforts, Azis said his party would also ask DPR RI Commission III for protection.

“Politically, we will ask DPR Commission III for protection with respect to this criminalization effort by bringing in the reporter and his lawyer,” he said.

Previously, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the West Java Regional Police (Ditreskrimum) named Bahar as a suspect in a persecution case.

The Director General of Criminal Investigation of the West Java Regional Police, Kombes CH Patoppoi, confirmed the determination of suspect Bahar. The founder of the Islamic boarding school Tajul Alawiyyin in Kemang, Bogor, was named a suspect in letter Number B / 4094 / X / 2020 / Ditreskrimum on October 21, 2020.

Bahar’s suspected article is article 170 and 351 of the Criminal Law Act (KUHP) with the scene of the case in Bogor, West Java.

Bahar bin Smith himself is currently languishing in Gunung Sindur Prison. He is in prison for mistreating two teenagers with a three-year sentence.
