Real Madrid lost their second loss in La Liga this season. Visiting the Valencia headquarters, Zinedine Zidane’s squad lost 1-4.

At Mestalla, on Monday (09/11/2020) morning WIB, Madrid took the lead thanks to Karim Benzema’s shot in the 23rd minute. But after that, the match was like a nightmare for Sergio Ramos et al.

Behind a goal, Valencia tried to respond. The opportunity came in the 29th minute, when Lucas Vázquez was caught with his hand in the penalty area. Carlos Soler advanced as executor, but Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois managed to frustrate him.

But the referee finally asked for the penalty to be repeated because the video assistant referee (VAR) indicated that Yunus Musah’s position was already in the penalty area when the execution took place. Soler stepped back to take the penalty, and this time he did his job successfully. Score 1-1.

In the 43rd minute, Valencia went ahead. Raphael Varane tries to clear the ball from his team’s defensive area, but the ball goes into the net itself. The VAR also stated that the goal was valid. The first half closed with the hosts’ advantage 2-1.

In the second half, Valencia stepped on the accelerator. Lee Kang-In nearly added a goal in the 47th minute with a long-range shot, but Courtois was quick to ignore him. But the disaster for Madrid increased in the 52nd minute.

Marcelo fouls Maximiliano Gómez in the penalty area, and another 12 shots are given to Valencia. Soler backed off and successfully empowered Courtois for the second time.

Madrid is not exempt from struggle. In the 57th minute, Federico Valverde’s long shot was broken by Domenech. Two minutes later, Asensio’s shot was countered by the 30-year-old goalkeeper.

In the 60th minute, Madrid was penalized for the third time. This time Sergio Ramos was doing handball. The VAR also confirmed it. Soler was again designated as a kicker, and managed to score a hat-trick in this match.

Winning 4-1, Valencia no longer insisted on attacking. Meanwhile, Madrid, despite trying to score a goal in the final 30 minutes, still could not avoid defeat. Valencia closed the victory with a score of 4-1.
