KOMPAS.com- A hunter in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra named Sabirin (46) shot his own colleague, Riswanto, on Wednesday (8/26/2020).
Sabirin thought his colleague was a deer hiding in the bushes.
Before he was shot dead, Riswanto screamed as he held onto his neck, which was covered in blood.
“This perpetrator has often hunted with the victim. At the time, he claimed to have seen the mouse deer, but did not realize that it was his friend who was shot,” said Tanjung Agung Police Chief AKP Faisal Pangihutan Manalau.

I was hunting deer
He said Sabirin and Riswanto were initially hunting deer. They are both used to hunting together.
When the incident occurred, they were hunting in Tanjung Agung Village, Muara Enim Regency, on Wednesday (8/26/2020).
But then the two parted ways to find the mouse deer.
As the hunt continued, Sabirin appeared to see a mouse deer enter a bush.
He did not realize that the figure was his own mate.

Shot in the neck, he screamed
Sabirin also ordered the assembly’s long-barreled weapon which he carried into the bushes. He then shot the target he thought was a deer.
But suddenly Sabirin heard his companion’s cry.
He then saw Riswanto holding his neck, which was covered in blood because he was shot.
“The victim died on the spot from a gunshot wound to the neck,” he said.

Threatened with 10 years in prison
Sabirin, who was surprised to shoot his hunting partner, later reported the incident to his family.
He was arrested along with evidence of a long-barreled firearm that he used to hunt.
Sabirin must now be held accountable for his actions.
He was threatened with 10 years in prison and charged under article 359 of the Penal Code for negligence causing the death of people.
