Sampdoria vs Milan: Rossoneri wins 2-1

AC Milan continue their undefeated streak in Serie A this season. Come to the Sampdoria headquarters in the 10th giornata, the Rossoneri won 2-1 narrowly.

Playing at Luigi Ferraris on Monday (7/12/2020) WIB early in the morning, two of Milan’s winning goals were scored by Franck Kessie (45 ‘) and Samuel Castillejo (77’). Meanwhile, Sampdoria could only respond with a header from Albin Ekdal (82 ‘).

These results place Stefano Pioli’s squad at the top of the standings with 26 points. Meanwhile, Sampdoria is ranked 12th with 11 points.

The course of the match

Sampdoria almost opened the scoring in the 8th minute. Lorenzo Tonelli headed the ball towards Milan’s goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma managed to save the net.

Milan threatened again in the 18th minute. Ante Rebic shot into the penalty area, but was successfully secured by Il Samp goalkeeper Emil Audero. Four minutes later, the Indonesian goalkeeper stopped a header from Alessio Romagnoli.

Milan keeps pressing. Alexis Saelemaekers took a long-range shot in the 30th minute, but it went up. Sampdoria responded five minutes later through Manolo Gabbiadini, but Donnarumma had his shot passed.

Rebic had another chance in the 38th minute, but again his shot was cleared by Audero. But the long-awaited goal from the Rossoneri finally reached the end of the first half.

In the 44th minute, Jakub Jankto was caught with his hand in the Sampdoria penalty area. Milan got a proper 12 kick award. Franck Kessie stepped up as executor and managed to finish it. Milan winning 1-0 until the break.

In the second half, Milan threatened first. Sandro Tonali was about to put the Rossoneri ahead with two goals, but his shot from close range in the 47th minute still hit the post.

Sampdoria tries to find the tie. Morten Thorsby received a cross from Antonio Candreva in the 69th minute, but his header still bounced off the Milan goal. A minute later, Antonino La Gumina’s shot did not reach the goal either.

Instead of scoring a goal, Sampdoria conceded again in the 77th minute. Samuel Castillejo, who had just entered a minute earlier, managed to make Audero’s goal vibrate for the second time. He finished with a shot from close range after receiving a horizontal cross from Rebic.

Behind two goals, Sampdoria never gave up. Their efforts paid off in the 82nd minute. Candreva’s corner kick was successfully headed by Albin Ekdal towards Milan’s goal. Donnarumma was able to brush it off, but the ball had already entered the goal.

In the remaining time, both teams kept looking for goals, but Milan’s 2-1 lasted until the end.
