jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former DPR Commission III member Ruhut Sitompul also responded to the report by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Principal Investigator Novel Baswedan to Bareskrim Polri.
The organization Youth, Student and Student Partnership and Community Protection (PPMK) reported the novel to the police because it was considered provocative through comments on social networks about the death of Soni Eranata aka Ustaz Maaher At-Thuwailibi in the detention center of Bareskrim.
“For Novel Baswedan, I am no stranger. As he was a policeman, he was brave enough to oppose his institution, and he left, yes. What’s more, that’s the problem,” Ruhut said during a conversation with JPNN.com. , Friday (2/12).
According to the PDI-P politician, Novel should not have commented on Ustaz Maaher’s death because he was an investigator at another law enforcement agency, the KPK.
“You can’t really do that. For some reason, even though it’s not a policy anymore, it’s in the KPK. It’s not good,” Ruhut said.
As an investigator at an anti-corruption agency, Ruhut continued, Novel, who was last in the police force with the rank of Police Commissioner (Kompol), should only focus on efforts to root out corruption.
“He must focus on preventing and eradicating corruption. Also, so far we know his role is related to OTT, right. Why is he meddling in the political world,” said the former Democratic politician.
Furthermore, Ruhut said, Novel, who is now in the KPK and understands the law, must also stress that what the late Ustaz Maaher did was a purely legal crime.
