Bandung, CNN Indonesia –
Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil said the forced closure of the water tourism venue Waterboom Lippo Cikarang, Bekasi, on Sunday (10/1), was a lesson for business owners during the pandemic.
“An example of a case in Cikarang Bekasi where there is a Waterboom that does not use a protocol, uses its own logic to give a discount as a result of being crowded, we have already punished it, it is closed,” Emil said at the press conference of the Covid-19 Management Committee at West Java Regional Police Headquarters, Monday (11/1).
“We hope that the steadfastness of Forkopimda and the Covid-19 Management Policy Committee will be a lesson that business owners must obey,” he continued.
The politician familiarly named Emil admits that various restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic have reduced profits.
“We are not comfortable with the decision to limit because it will reduce our livelihood, but in a health emergency situation this is announced because everyone is doing it too,” Ridwan said.
The former mayor of Bandung also asked tourism owners and managers in other areas to maintain a disciplinary commitment to health protocols.
“Therefore, all tourist areas in West Java must commit to limiting the total capacity,” he said.
To ensure surveillance efforts, Emil asked the West Java Regional Police to conduct field inspections regarding the obligation of residents to submit negative Covid-19 results in the form of a rapid antigen test.
Travel agents entering the West Java region must meet several conditions. First, be responsible for their respective health and comply with the applicable regulations.
Previously, travelers to West Java had to show a negative swab test result using the PCR method or the rapid antigen test. The letter must be issued no later than three days before departure for West Java.
“Towards the weekend I tasked the police chief with inspecting movements between provinces, especially those heading to tourist areas such as Puncak, to carry negative Covid-19 antigen letters,” he said.
As is known, the police dispersed the crowd of visitors at Waterboom Lippo Cikarang, Kapubaten Bekasi, on Sunday (1/10). The manager was examined.

South Cikarang Police Chief Kompol Sukadi said the waterboom was still running during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the visitors are only 250 to 500 people out of a total capacity of around 7,000 people.
“Yesterday, apparently the waterboom manager made an innovation by discounting the entry ticket from the normal ticket price of Rp. 95 thousand to Rp. 10 thousand,” he said, on Monday (11/1).
Sukadi reported that this case has been transferred to the Bekasi Metropolitan Police. In addition to the criminal penalties, his party temporarily closed the waterboom.
