Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Chairman of the faction of the National Awakening Party (PKB) DKI Jakarta DPRD Hasbiallah Ilyas imposed a fine of IDR 50 million on the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab indicates Provincial Government DKI Jakarta off guard, unable to avoid the crowd that turned up at the Prophet’s birthday and his daughter’s wedding.

“This is not a fine problem, this is the problem of the provincial government being careless. The people below should mourn until their store is closed and their tables are looted by Satpol PP,” Hasbi said when contacted, the Monday (11/16).

Hasbi said this treatment is very different from that received by lower-middle-class society. He said, many people whose wedding celebrations were dissolved even though it took place in a quiet town.

According to him, fines are not something to be proud of.

“One side of the crowd is large but the provincial government only imposes fines. The fines are not an achievement,” he explained.

“The achievement for the provincial government is if the provincial government is able to comply with the PSBB that it has made. It is useless if there are regulations that have been approved,” he continued.

In this condition, Hasbi assessed that DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan should have been able to prevent the Rizieq event. This is because many of the detrimental effects of the event are not comparable to the fines imposed.

He said the budget to handle covid-19 at DKI reached 5 trillion IDR. According to him, the provincial government should be able to take advantage of the budget instead of being used for the Unexpected Expenses (BTT) budget related to the Rizieq event.

“This is not negligence, this indicates the incapacity of the provincial government. Unfortunately, the 5 trillion IDR budget is used for BTT funds, Covid does not whole-heartedly,” he explained.

Hasbi said that prevention is the best way to eradicate COVID-19 and not budget for the amount of fines. He considered this behavior as an inequality for people with low income and unable to pay the fines.

“If you expect a fine it is not an achievement. The achievement prevents it to the maximum, indiscriminately, a pity that the people below postpone its celebration,” he concluded.

Previously, Rizieq celebrated his daughter’s marriage contract and the Prophet’s birthday on Saturday (11/14). The event saw a crowd of thousands of people who abstained from health protocols.

Later, Kasatpol PP DKI Jakarta Arifin said that Rizieq had been fined Rs 50 million for this condition. Rizieq claimed that the fine was paid in full.
