Social Minister Tri Rismaharini alias Risma ask street children to participate in the government’s orientation program so that they do not fall into drugs.
He said this at a meeting with street children at the Mojopahit Foundation in Balong Cangkring (BC), Pulorejo Town, Pra Soldier Kulon District, Mojokerto City (2/01).
“Don’t run. If you run away from reality, then you run into drugs, that’s even more difficult. Because if you go to drugs, you won’t be able to go back,” he said, in an official press release from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
“Come on guys. Do you want to come with you? But you have to be serious. It is difficult. It is not easy. But if you want to come, you have to change now. Do not regret it when you are old. It is useless,” continued the former mayor. East Surabaya.
He also gave an example of the success of his training program for street children in Surabaya, especially a street boy who was nicknamed Bledhek (lightning in Javanese).
Upon meeting for the first time, Risma told him that Bledhek’s body was covered in tattoos. At that time, Risma challenged that he would raise Bledhek to be a useful child as long as he really wanted to change.
“There is a name Bledhek. I asked you if you wanted to come with me or not. His body was full of tattoos, here and here. If you want to join Mom and go to school, take it off.” [tatonya] everything, “he said.
“Three years ago, Bledhek became a paskibraka in the Surabaya City Council. And two years ago he studied at one of the Surabaya state universities,” Risma continued.

Regarding the handling of the problem of street children in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Risma said that he would first map the problem.
“So we are trying to map out what we can do, so that we can review both our existing resources and the budget,” he said.

On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs symbolically delivered 24 million rupees in aid for rice, 166 million rupees for the receiving institutions in East Java, 80 nutritional packages for 80 children assisted by the Majapahit Foundation worth 24 million rupees, and integrated and ongoing training from the Eklesia Foundation IPWL of rupees 36 million.
In addition, training is also planned for the inhabitants of this former lokalisasi.
“So it’s not just about getting assistance and then releasing ourselves. We can’t do it if it’s just about mentoring and training, we will also access marketing. Including the existing buildings here,” Risma said.
