SERANG, KOMPAS.com – West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil asked why he did not investigate Banten Governor Wahidin Halim about the FPI crowd in his area.

In fact, there was a crowd of FPI who picked up Rizieq Shihab at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang on November 10, 2020.

In response to this, Wahidin Halim was reluctant to be blamed by the crowd when Rizieq arrived at the Soekarno Hatta airport.

“Don’t blame yourself, what’s the connection,” Wahdin said through a clarification video obtained by Kompas.com. Wednesday (12/16/2020).

The airport authority, not the Banten provincial government

Wahidin said that, regarding Rizieq Shihab’s arrival, it was under the authority of the airport, not the Banten provincial government.

“The crowd at the airport is the Soekarno Hatta airport authority which cannot be intervened by the local government or the provincial government,” he said.

According to the former mayor of Tangerang, he explained that the implementation of the health protocol at Soetta airport was based on instructions and orders from the central government.

“It would be strange if there were people who always link the crowds at the airport with the legal responsibility of the provincial and district / municipal governments,” he said.

Questioned Ridwan Kamil

Previously, Ridwan Kamil questioned why only he, as the Governor of West Java and Governor of DKI Jakarta, were questioned about the Rizieq Shihab crowd.

In fact, there were three places where the crowd was when Rizieq arrived, prompting the crowd, namely Tangerang, Jakarta, and Bogor.

“If you examine the Governor of West Java, you examine DKI, why isn’t the incident at the airport being investigated?” Ridwan Kamil said at the West Java police headquarters on Wednesday (12/16/2020).

“That means that the governor should also receive the same legal treatment that I experienced as a good citizen, right?”

According to Ridwan Kamil, Indonesia as the rule of law should prioritize obedience and equality before the law.

“We are a rule of law that prioritizes obedience and equality before the same law,” he said.
