Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil claimed to be ready to be responsible for the welcoming crowd of the Grand Imam of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Rizieq Shihab in the Megamendung area, Bogor Regency, Friday (11/13).
The man who is familiarly called Emil also expressed an apology regarding the crowd that was deemed not to be in compliance with the Covid-19 prevention health protocol.
“So if today’s events want to find out who is responsible, of course I am in charge of leadership and I apologize if this dynamic makes the situation unfavorable,” Emil said at a press conference on Tuesday (11/17) ).
Emil claimed that his party would correct the mistakes that had occurred in preventing the spread of the corona virus. According to him, the activities at Megamendung became an impetus for all parties to help manage Covid-19.
“Everyone is angry, stressed and tired. Blaming is easy, so please blame and I don’t have a problem either. But what is needed is fostering positive energy by providing peace and giving statements that are reassuring and kind to everyone.” , said.
“If you show your hands it is also the easiest thing but we will not do it. All the responsibility is, therefore, I finish it. If that is the risk, I will apologize and God willing, I will correct what is missing and improve the good”, Emil said. Add.
On the other hand, Emil also responded to the dismissal of the chief inspector general of the West Java regional police, Rudy Sufahriadi. According to him, Rudy has been doing a good job helping his party manage the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In fact, he enthusiastically showed his solidarity by volunteering for vaccines without being asked,” Emil said.
In addition to volunteering for the Covid-19 vaccine clinical trial, Emil also admitted that he often communicated with Rudy at various activities amid the corona virus pandemic.
“I can see again his dedication in terms of the timing of controlling the rally and the difficult situation. So I think I really appreciate this person with the figure of Pak Rudy,” he said.
Previously, there was a crowd when Rizie Shihab came to FPI Sharia Islamic Agro-cultural Boarding School in Megamendung, Bogor Regency, last Friday (11/13).
Crowds of Rizieq supporters came out along the Ciawi toll road to the intersection of Gadog, Bogor, West Java. They welcomed Rizieq’s entourage to the Megamendung area.
Rudy, while still serving as West Java regional police chief, lamented that the activities in Megamendung, Bogor, which Rizieq attended, were related to the alleged violation of the Covid-19 health protocol.
Based on these findings, the West Java Regional Police will conduct an assessment with the West Java Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the Covid-19 Management Working Group meeting.
“In terms of health protocols (HRS activities in Megamendung) are still full of violations of health protocols, such as large crowds, not keeping their distance and many not wearing masks,” Rudy said after attending the Brimob Anniversary at Cikeruh, Sumedang Regency, on Saturday (11/14).
However, three days after the crowd welcomed Rizieq to Megamendung, Rudy was removed from office. In addition, Metro Jaya’s Chief of Police, Inspector General Nana Sujana, was also replaced.
The National Police Headquarters stated that the two two-star generals were dismissed for failing to comply with orders to enforce the Covid-19 health protocol. The post of Kapolda Metro Jaya was replaced by Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran. Meanwhile, the post of West Java Police Chief was replaced by Inspector General Ahmad Dofiri.
