PADANG – Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) regretted the statement of Lieutenant General (ret) Djamari Chaniago, who described the case of the beatings committed by members of the great motorcycle (moge) that he directed against two TNI soldiers as a minor problem.

The chairman of the Indonesian Police Presidium, Neta S Pane, said Djamhari should have apologized to the community because members of his entourage had acted arbitrarily. Not only the general public on the streets, but also the TNI members who were beaten.
“IPW hopes that Djamhari, as a retired officer, will have a big heart, will retract his words and apologize to the wider community, especially to the two TNI soldiers who are in the hospital because they were attacked by members of the civil society using moge, “he said on Sunday (1/11/2020).

It is time for him to say, the top officials who become the leaders of the great motorcycles remind their members not to be arrogant on the streets and not to be reckless or not to become kings of the streets like the motorcycle gangs of which many people complain about.
“If motorcyclists are reckless like motorcycle gangs, it is not impossible for the community to resist them and motorcyclists to become enemies of society on the streets,” he concluded.
