Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that the public could exchange 75-year denominations of the RI Independence Coin (UPK) 75 thousand IDR in commercial banks collectively as of today, Thursday (1/10). However, there are conditions that must be met before committing Currency exchange.
BI Communication Department Head Onny Widjanarko explained that there are several conditions that the public must meet in order to exchange 75 lakhs denominations at commercial banks.
Some of these conditions, among others, the registrar is an adult Indonesian resident who has a Resident Identity Card (KTP) and an ID card only valid for the exchange of a UPK 75 RI.
“The collective exchange is carried out with a minimum exchange of 17 people and there is no maximum limit,” said Onny, quoted on Thursday (1/10).
Onny explained that people who want to exchange Rp75 thousand denominations can register at the commercial bank closest to their home. Subsequently, the bank will send an email with the application form and the exchanger data to the UPK 75 RI collective exchange PIC at the BI representative offices according to their respective regions.
In addition, the bank will obtain proof of the change order. Then the bank will collectively exchange the customer’s 75 lakhs denomination according to the time and place according to the order voucher.
The public had to go directly to the bank to collect the denomination of 75 thousand rupees. Later, the bank will notify the collection schedule.

Later, BI also opened an exchange service through the PINTAR application. The change can be made during business hours until October 30, 2020.
“BI reminds the community that they will change UPK 75 RI to continue executing the covid-19 protocol,” concluded Onny.
