BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – About 5,000 workers from Bekasi City and Bekasi Regency will participate in a demonstration action to reject the approval of the Omnibus Labor Bill to the House of Representatives / MPR RI, on Monday (10/6/2020).
“Yes, today to Jakarta, to the DPR RI building. There are 5,000 (joint workers) Bekasi City and Regency,” said Indonesian Federation of Metalworkers Trade Unions (FSPMI) president Bekasi Suparno when contacted on Monday (5 / 10/2020).
According to the plan, this demonstration will last until October 8, 2020. According to Suparno, the peak of the demonstration will take place in front of the DPR Building on Thursday (8/10/2020).

Suparno said there were several meeting points for workers from Bekasi Regency and Bekasi City to hold a long march of demonstrations in the Indonesian Parliament.
The Bekasi Regency workers will meet in the MM2100 industrial area, EJIP area and in the Jababeka area.
“WIB leaves the assembly point at 09.00, meanwhile Bekasi city workers gather near the entrance to the West Bekasi toll road,” Suparno said.
He called this labor lawsuit the same as all other labor alliances.
“Yes, it is the same as the central alliance (labor), the demands are still in the Omnibus Law of the Job Creation Bill. The DPR wants the plenary session on the 8th (ratification). Hopefully the cluster at the hands of work is broadcast as education, the media will be broadcast, “he said.
Previously, there were seven main points that were rejected by workers and other confederations in the comprehensive bill.
First, workers think that the job creation bill will eliminate the city / district minimum wage (UMK) and the city / district sectoral minimum wage (UMSK).
Second, his party refused to reduce the value of severance pay from 32 months of salary to 25 months.
Third, related to a fixed-term employment contract (PKWT) that is evaluated as a lifetime contract and there is no time limit on the contract.
Fourth, the workers also reject the draft regulation on subcontracting workers for life without any kind of work.
Fifth, workers assess that through the Job Creation Act, workers have the potential to get more hours of exploitative work.
Sixth, workers evaluating the right to leave will disappear once the Labor Copyright Act is passed.
In seventh place, workers also highlighted the potential of contract employees and subcontractors for life, losing pension and health insurance.
