JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The member of the Press Council, Ahmad Jauhar, considered that there was no violation of the article of the Journalistic Ethics Code (KEJ) in the video ‘Mata Najwa’, ‘Menanti Terawan’ edition.

He said this was related to the reporting by journalists and presenter ‘Mata Najwa’ Najwa Shihab by Jokowi volunteers at Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (6/10/2020).

However, the police rejected the report as the domain of the Press Council.

“Which KEJ article was raped?” Ahmad told Kompas.com on Wednesday (7/10/2020).

Ahmad said it would be wrong for Jokowi volunteers to report the video ‘Mata Najwa’ in the ‘Menanti Terawan’ issue to the Press Council.

According to him, the report should have been handled by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).

“So talk show products are more appropriate to be presented to the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission. For news or journalistic products, then the Press Council is reported,” he said.

Jokowi Unified Volunteers President Silvia Dewi Soembarto reportedly wants to denounce journalist and presenter Najwa Shihab to Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (6/10/2020).

The reporting plan is related to the “Mata Najwa” edition of “Menanti Terawan”.

However, the police rejected the report because it was the domain of the Press Council.

“I informed Najwa Shihab in the vacant seat interview,” Silvia said when confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Silvia, Najwa’s interview with an empty chair was deemed degrading to President Joko Widodo through the person who helped him.

“The Terawan minister is representative of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Najwa Sihab’s behavior on television seen by 269 million Indonesians is very rude,” he said.
