He explained the reason why the term syarif is more suitable for Rizieq Shihab. According to Cak Nun, this title of syarif is only intended for those who have descendants of Sayyidina Hussein. Meanwhile, for those who have descendants of Sayyidina Hasan bin Ali, the title that is carried is Sayyid. “So I call Rizieq ‘Rif, Syarif’. In fact, he is a Syarif,” said Cak Nun.

Cak Nun said that the term habib had nothing to do with dzurriyatul Apostle or descendant of a prophet.

“Habib from the Arabian peninsula are people from Yemen and the outlying countries who came to Mecca or Medina to seek the Prophet. They were very impressed and loved Rasulullah so much that they were called Habib, a person who loved Rasulullah there,” he concluded .
