Juventus failed to win in the ninth giornata of the Italian League. When visiting the Benevento headquarters, Andrea Pirlo’s squad drew 1-1.

Playing at the Ciro Vigorito Stadium on Sunday (11/29/2020) WIB early in the morning, Juventus took the lead through Álvaro Morata in the 21st minute, but Benevento stole a point with a kick from Gaetano Letizia in the first part of the discount time.

This poor score was exacerbated by excessive protests from Morata after the game, which led to a red card. He also had to miss the tenth giornata against Torino next week.

An additional point places Juventus in fifth place in the standings with 17 points. As for Benevento, it is ranked 12th with 10 points.

The course of the match

Benevento threatened first in the 11th minute. Federico Barba opened fire after taking the bait from Gianluca Caprari, but Wojciech Szczesny was still able to ignore him. Two minutes later, Gianluca Lapadula’s header was still off target.

OBJECTIVE! Juventus took the lead in the 21st minute. Receiving a long pass from Federico Chiesa, Álvaro Morata first controlled the ball, surpassed Artur Ionita and then shot with his left foot that Lorenzo Montipo could not save.

Winning a goal did not slow down Juventus’ attack. Chiesa himself almost doubled the lead in the 24th minute, if Montipo did not secure his shot. Two minutes later, Paulo Dybala was unable to score after his shot went wide to the left side of Benevento’s goal.

In the 31st minute, Gianluca Frabotta fired a low cross from the left that Aaron Ramsey finished off with a shot, but Montipo cleared the foot.

Benevento pressed again. Lapadula received a mature cross from Gaetano Letizia in the 35th minute, but his header came slightly off the right side of Szczesny’s goal.

Benevento attacked hard in the first half of injury time. After Szczesny shoved a shot from close range by Pasquale Schiattarella, Benevento took a corner. This is where they managed to score a goal.

Starting with Arthur’s imperfect sweep, the ball was immediately hit by Letizia with a horizontal shot that led to the left corner of Juventus’ goal, without being able to be driven by Szczesny who was already dead. OBJECTIVE! The first half ends 1-1.

In the second half, Benevento fell back from the start. Riccardo Improta has a chance in the 48th minute, but his shot goes wide. Three minutes later, Juventus responded through Morata, but his header also failed to change the score.

The bianconeri try to dominate. Dybala attempts a long-range shot in the 53rd minute, but it remains unsuccessful. Morata headed a free kick from Dybala in the 60th minute, but failed to hit the target either.

Morata had another chance two minutes later, but again his execution failed to excite Benevento’s goal. In the 85th minute, Centro Federico Bernardeschi headed towards Dybala, and the Argentine forward’s shot was pushed by Montipo.

Until the match ended, the 1-1 score remained unchanged. After the match, Morata strongly protested to the referee and took him a red card.
