Minister of Labor (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah asked the receiving workers direct cash assistance (BLT) returns the funds transferred by the government. The Minister’s appeal is addressed to recipients who do not meet the requirements.
“Workers who do not meet the requirements of Permenaker Number 14 of 2020 but have received this assistance, we request that those interested return the assistance to the state treasury account,” he said on Tuesday (9/8).
The regulations regarding BLT for workers with wages below Rp. 5 million are contained in the Regulation of the Ministry of Labor Number 14 of 2020 on the Guidelines to provide government assistance in the form of wage subsidies or wages for workers or day laborers in managing the impact of Covid-19.
The criteria for recipients in the regulation include participants receiving salaries from BPJamsostek, the status of active participants from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan until June 2020, have an active account number and a salary less than 5 million IDR.
On that occasion, he also affirmed that entrepreneurs who do not provide real data will be sanctioned in accordance with the applicable provisions. As of September 7, the government has channeled aid to 3.69 million workers below 5 million rupees. The canal covers the first and second stages.
In detail, the first stage distribution amounted to 2.31 million recipients, or 92.42 percent of the total phase I data presented by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan of 2.5 million. Then the second stage is 1.38 million, or 46.20 percent of the total data of 3 million.
Ida also asked BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to reach out to relevant stakeholders to minimize obstacles in the distribution of this assistance. Obstacles faced include duplication, accounts are no longer active, accounts are invalid, accounts have been frozen, accounts do not match NIK, etc.
“We also call on companies and workers to establish communication and dialogue about workers’ accounts to ensure that there are no errors in the accounts and that the distribution of aid is correct,” he added.
For information, each eligible worker receives assistance of Rs 600 thousand per month for four months, making the total assistance Rs 2.4 million. Assistance is provided in two transfers, namely 1.2 million IDR for each transfer period.
