Rahayu Saraswati, Prabowo’s nephew, who is now Gerindra’s vice president

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Gerindra Party politician Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo was appointed Vice President of the Gerindra Party for the period 2020-2025.

According to Gerindra Party spokesman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saras is currently following the party’s guidance for the next few days.

“Currently, Sister Saraswati is in orientation at the party for the next few days, because she has been appointed as one of the Vice Presidents of the Gerindra Party,” Dasco told reporters on Monday (9/14/2020).

Previously reported, the Extraordinary Congress of the Gerindra Party (KLB) reinstated Prabowo Subianto as President General and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

The management order has been registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for confirmation.

To take into account, Rahayu is the daughter of a businessman who is also Prabowo’s younger brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo.

It is currently known that the woman who was born on January 27, 1986 is running for deputy mayor of South Tangerang with Muhammad, the former regional secretary of the city of Tangsel, who is now a PDI-P politician.

During the elections, the Muhammad-Rahayu couple received the support of nine political parties, namely the PDI-P, the Gerindra Party, the Indonesian Solidarity Party, the National Mandate Party and the Hanura Party.

Then the Nasdem Party, the Perindo Party, the Garuda Party and the Berkarya Party, with the cumulative seats in the Tangsel City DPRD reaching 23 seats.

In the 2014 legislative elections, Prabowo’s nephew once ran for a legislative candidate and passed successfully.

Rahayu was also a member of Commission VIII for the 2014-2019 period.

However, when he ran again for the 2019 legislative elections, he failed.

Unlike the previous legislative elections, where he represented Central Java IV, in the 2019 Pileg, Rahayu decided to advance from Jakarta’s Electoral District III, which includes North Jakarta, West Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.

In fact, he only obtained 79,801 votes in the elections and could not reach the Senayan.
