LAMPUNG, KOMPAS.com – A number of characteristics of a suspicious charity box can be seen with the naked eye in the information of the charity box.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council Khatib Association (IK DMI) Lampung Gus Dimyathi said that this had to be known to the public and the owner of the place where the charity box was placed.

“There are characteristics, so the public must know what the suspicious charity box is,” Dimyathi said when contacted on Monday (12/14/2020).

This is related to the alleged existence of 4,000 charities in Lampung that are suspected of being a source of funding for the radical movement.

According to Dimyathi, there are a number of features of the suspicious charity fund, including donations with the camouflage of orphans, natural disasters and the construction of mosques.

“These charity boxes are usually found in restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets and even gas stations,” Dimyathi said.

Dimyathi added, if the charity fund mentions donations to Islamic boarding schools, the Pondok Pesantren Statistics Number (NSPP) should be dialed.

“Every boarding school must have their NSPP registered, so it’s a bit difficult to fake the NSPP,” Dimyathi said.

Meanwhile, suspicious charities, such as mosque-building donations, do not have registration numbers, making them difficult to track.

“The donation of orphaned children usually has the LKSA number (Child Welfare Institution), which is registered with the Social Service. So if there is no LKSA, of course, suspect, don’t donate, ”Dimyathi said.

Is still being explored

Meanwhile, Lampung Regional Police Intelligence and Security Director Kombes Amran Ampulembang said his party was still investigating allegations that the charity fund was being used as a source of funding for the radical movement.

“(Information) we do this as a pulbaket (collection of information materials),” Amran said.

Therefore, your party is coordinating with a number Interested from the provincial government to the village officials.

Meanwhile, Amran said, his party called on the public to make donations to responsible agencies or institutions.
