Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to remove Arief Hidayat Thamrin from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the Indonesian Television Public Broadcasting Institute (LPP TVRI) .
This is based on Letter Number PW / DPR RI / X / 2020 that was signed by Indonesian Parliament Speaker Puan Maharani to be sent to President Joko Widodo on October 5, 2020.
Dave Laksono, a member of the I DPR RI Commission of the Golkar Party faction, confirmed the letter.
“Yes, the result of the decision of the internal meeting of Commission I,” Dave told CNNIndonesia.com, on Monday (12/10/2020), as quoted by CNBC Indonesia.
The letter explained that Arief’s removal was based on the results of an internal meeting of Commission I of the Indonesian Parliament on October 1, 2020, which decided to reject his defense as chairman of the Supervisory Board of LPP TVRI. The Indonesian Parliament also asked Jokowi to follow up on this request in accordance with legal provisions.
“The DPR RI leadership continues the DPR RI Commission I Leadership Letter which has decided to reject the self-defense letter written by the LPP TVRI Adult Leader that has been sent to the DPR RI,” the letter read.
“Then we transmit you [Presiden] to follow up in accordance with legal provisions, “the letter continued.

Commissioner I DPR RI member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction Charles Honoris said Dewas LPP TVRI had violated the conclusion of the meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives by presenting a Plan Notice of Dismissal (SPRP) for three directors of TVRI, namely, Director of Programs and News Apni Jaya Putra, Chief Financial Officer Isnan Rahmanto, as well as CEO Tumpak Pasaribu. Despite Dewas LPP TVRI being asked to cancel the SPRP.
