jpnn.com, PARIS – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Neymar expressed his frustration and regret that he did not take tougher action against Marseille player Álvaro González over the defender’s accusations of racism.
PSG lost 1-0 to Marseille on Monday in Ligue 1.
But the match was marred by a late fight in which five players received red cards for being involved in the incident.
Neymar was the last player sent off for slapping González on the neck.
Neymar accused the Spanish defender of using racism when leaving the pitch.
The Brazilian player later expressed his frustration after the match on his social media accounts for González.
“My only regret is not hitting the bastard in the face,” the 28-year-old wrote on Twitter, as quoted by Goal on Monday (9/14).
“The VAR caught the incident easily,” Neymar wrote after the game.
