jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The provincial government of DKI Jakarta will ban public activities that could cause crowds when the implementation of strict Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) begins next Monday (9/14).

According to DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, prohibited public activities include gatherings, family gatherings, and activities involving many people in one place.

“Public activities and community activities that are mass gatherings are prohibited. Crowds are prohibited,” Anies told a press conference at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (9/9).

Anies emphasized that public activities that trigger the emergence of a crowd have great potential to become a place of transmission for Covid-19.

“Remember, the broadcast potential at events like this is very great and if we feel safe, we feel comfortable at events like this just because we know other people, the (broadcast) potential is still high,” Anies continued.

Therefore, the former Minister of Education and Culture reminded the citizens of the capital not to carry out activities that cause crowds.

“Meetings, reunions, family reunions and others that bring together people from different places should be postponed,” Anies said.
