PS5 officially sold, potentially becomes ‘invisible’ game console

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Sony officially sells PlayStation 5 or PS5 in several countries starting today (12/11/2020). But sorry for the game console, the possibility of going straight to the magic eyebrows is not available in the market because they are sold out.

Today, the PS5 will be sold in the United States (US), Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. Other countries began placing orders on November 19, 2020.

An example of how difficult it is to get a PS5 occurs in Japan. On the major retailers’ site, the PS5 sold out. There are only a few that still sell the PS5, but in limited stock.

Even on Mercari Inc’s used trading platform, the PS5 retails for more than $ 900 or nearly double the official price.

Some analysts predict that the shortage of Microsoft’s PS5 game consoles and XboX series devices will continue until 2021 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that had caused factories to stop operating.

Sony Interactive President and CEO Jim Ryan said this is the most extraordinary launch year of all the releases Sony has made in previous years.

“The most surprising thing is that all this will happen in 2020. One thing I learned is that I will never do this again in a pandemic,” the BBC said.

Jim Ryan added that the company was quite surprised by the high orders (pre-orders) made for the PS5.

“We made more PS5s in a difficult environment from the time of PS4 launch. If this game console could not be found at launch, we are sorry,” he explained.

For information only, the regular PS5 will sell for $ 499.99 per unit or the equivalent of Rs 7 million (assuming 14,000 Rs / US dollars) and the digital PS 5 for $ 399.99 or the equivalent of Rs 5, 6 million rupees. The bad news is that most of the PS5 units were sold out before launch day.
