Ammo Collection Mode During Training
The commander of the Pattimura XVI Kodam Military Police Detachment (Kapomdam), Colonel Cpm Paul Jhohanes Pelupessy, said Praka MS sold 600 rounds.
He said MS was gradually storing bullets that should have been used for target practice.
“How do you use 600 ammunition for a soldier? So, during shooting training, he tried to collect the ammunition. The suspect’s trick during target practice was that he left after getting ammunition, then he took it and hid it, then after training the next morning he came back to collect the ammunition he was hiding, “Paul said in the office Ambon Island Police Station Tuesday (2/23/2021).
Paul is still investigating whether the action involves colleagues from Praka MS.

Don’t really believe the suspect’s confession
Regarding the suspect’s confession, Paul admitted that he had yet to investigate.
According to him, MS could have collected 200 rounds of bullets with the mode he did.
While the remaining 400 bullets are of questionable origin.
“Because we couldn’t believe it was all about shooting practice. We also can’t just believe he’s playing alone, so we’re still exploring. Hopefully there is more information,” he said.

Connect with the KKB
MS sold the ammunition to a civilian named AT.
AT then resells ammunition to other civilians with the initials J.
The two were questioned after being detained by the police.
According to the results of the investigation, J was suspected of selling ammunition to the KKB in Papua.
Meanwhile, Praka MS was detained in Denpom XVI Pattimura detention cell.
“The person concerned is currently in custody, because we just received him last night,” Paul said.

Triggered sanctions
Paul confirmed that he would impose strict sanctions on Yonif 733 / Masariku soldiers suspected of selling ammunition to the KKB in Papua.
“If a TNI member sells ammunition or firearms for any purpose or purpose, initially it was not for OPM or anything, but by selling ammunition the punishment is dismissal,” Paul said.
He said he would not play games in the investigation of this case.
“And whatever the order of the Commander in Chief, the additional punishment is dismissal, so it is not about playing,” he said.
