jpnn.com, REJANG LEBONG – Prada Yopan Setiandi (21), a TNI soldier who served at Yonif 144 / Jaya Yudha, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, died on New Year’s Eve.
Prada Yopan was the victim of beatings to several young people in the area on Thursday night (12/31) around 11:30 p.m. WIB.
Prada Yopan and his colleague Pratu Agus Salim, who were also seriously injured and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, were beaten while in the Setia Negara Curup camp.
Kapolres Rejang Lebong AKBP Puji Prayitno accompanied by Dandim 0409 Lieutenant Colonel Sigit Purwoko confirmed that there was an incident in which two TNI members were beaten.
“There was a misunderstanding between the victim and the youth, resulting in mistreatment resulting in serious injuries,” AKBP Puji said at Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters on Friday (1/1).
He explained that after the beating incident that caused this TNI member to suffer several stab wounds with sharp objects, his group together with Kodim 0409 / Rejang Lebong immediately carried out an investigation and managed to secure five people, including evidence from the sharp weapon used to stab the two soldiers.
As for the five people who were arrested, he said, four of them were identified as suspects, namely RE, BO, RO, AK, while the other, namely DA, remains a witness.
It added that the five people who were detained were on average minors, where from the investigation the agents found that the attack on members of the TNI who were wearing civilian clothes at the time of the incident was carried out by nine people, while the other four they continued to be persecuted.
