Prabowo received the invitation not after the US State Department reportedly decided to issue a visa to Prabowo.
The granting of this visa was first reported by the main US political media, Politico, on Tuesday (6/10/2020), citing a source within the US State Department.
After the US visa is voided, Prabowo is reported to be visiting Uncle Sam’s country later this month.
“Prabowo is expected to visit later this month,” Politico wrote as quoted by Kompas.com, on Wednesday (7/10/2020).

It is known, in 2000, the New York Times said that the US State Department rejected a visa for Prabowo Subianto, whose last rank in the army was Lieutenant General, to attend his son’s graduation in Boston.
