PP Muhammadiyah Secretary General Abdul Mu’ti decided not to join the cabinet

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – PP Muhammadiyah General Secretary Abdul Mu’ti decided to resign from the offer of the vice minister position in the Advanced Cabinet of Indonesia. According to him, the decision was made after going through various considerations.

“I have decided not to join the Cabinet of Forward Indonesia as vice minister,” he said on his Twitter account, after asking permission, on Wednesday (12/23).

He admitted that the reason for his resignation from the Cabinet that had included his name was a sense of personal incapacity. You feel that the responsibility is very heavy.

“I’m not the right figure for the trust,” he said.

Mu’ti admitted that he had initially been contacted by the Minister of the Secretary of State (Mensesneg) Pratikno and the Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim. In this communication, he stated that he was willing to join the Indonesian Advanced Cabinet if given the mandate. However, he continued, after measuring his personal abilities, he changed his mind.

“Hopefully it is the best option,” he concluded.

Previously, in the scattered invitations, there were 14 names from Candidates for Ministers, Vice-ministers and Candidates for Chief of BNN to Candidates for Head of the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency. Of the 14 names, Abdul Mu’ti is one of the names slated to run for vice minister in this year’s Advanced Reorganization of the Indonesian Cabinet.
