jpnn.com, JAKARTA – PP Muhammadiyah General Secretary Abdul Mu’ti called on the public to refrain from passing the Job Creation Law.
He appealed not to be provoked so that anarchist actions would take place that would really harm the people themselves.
“It is better if all elements of society can repress themselves and accept the decision of the RPD as a political reality,” said Abdul Mu’ti in his official statement, on Wednesday (7/10).
If there are objections to the law or material in the law, he continued, a judicial review could be done.
Demonstrations and rallies will not solve the problem, they will even create new ones.
Furthermore, Abdul Mu’ti said that, from the beginning, Muhammadiyah called on the Indonesian Parliament to postpone, even cancel, the discussion of the Omnibus bill. In addition to still being in the COVID-19 period, the bill also contains many controversial articles.
“The bill did not get a broad response from the public. In fact, it should be in accordance with the law, every bill must receive input from the public,” he said.
However, the DPR went ahead and even passed the Omnibus Law. In fact, the proposal of Muhammadiyah and several organizations that manage education has been welcomed by the DPR.
