AMBON, KOMPAS.com – A monitoring person (ODP) from West Seram District, Maluku, who died at RSUD Dr. Haulussy Ambon on May 7, tested positive for Covid-19.
The patient was not buried according to Covid-19 positive patient procedure.
Maluku Province Covid-19 Management Task Force spokesman Meykal Pontoh said the patient with the initial watershed was treated at Haulussy Hospital in Ambon due to kidney disease.
“The victim was hospitalized on April 22 with the main symptoms of kidney failure, at that time the victim’s rapid test results were also negative,” Pontoh said in the Maluku governor’s office on Monday (11/05) / 2020).
At that time, the hospital medical team took a sample of the liquid from the patient’s throat because the victim’s husband had traveled to the covid-19 red zone area.

According to Pontoh, the patient who died on May 7, 2020 was immediately taken by the family to West Seram for burial.
However, five days after burial, the patient’s swab test results came out.
“So, five days after the victim was buried, the new hyssop family came back positive,” Pontoh said.
Pontoh admitted that, while receiving treatment at Ambon Hospital until he was buried, the management of the medical equipment for the victims did not comply with the Covid-19 protocol.
“The funeral process for the victim is not in accordance with the Covid-19 protocol because the swab results only came out after five days that the victim was buried. This is misled by his name,” he said.
