One week after President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) remodeling Cabinet, polling institute SMRC released the 2024 presidential candidate’s eligibility. Ganjar Pranowo became the top candidate among other names. The following is a snapshot of the survey results.

The survey, which was conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), was conducted from December 23 to 26, 2020. The technique used was telephone interviews with 1,202 randomly selected respondents (random).

Error range in this survey it was estimated at +/- 2.9 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent. The samples come from all the provinces that are distributed proportionally.

‘If the presidential election were held today, who would you choose as president among the following names?’ That was the question posed in this poll. Respondents are then invited to choose a number of candidate names that have been provided.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, occupies the first position. Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan did the same.

“In this simulation we find that Ganjar Pranowo currently has 15.7% support, then Prabowo 14.9%, Anies Baswedan 11, Sandiaga Uno 7.9%, Ridwan Kamil 7.1%, Agus 3.1% and Bu Risma 3.1%, “said SMRC CEO Sirojudin Abbas via SMRC TV’s YouTube account on Tuesday (12/29/2020).

The number of respondents who have yet to decide on an answer is around 31 percent. Abbas said there was no candidate who was dominant enough in the market for presidential candidates. The highest figure is just 15.7 percent.

“In fact, we see that there are no candidates dominant enough to receive public support, the highest is only 15.7 percent. Therefore, we note that 4 years before the 2024 presidential election, there will be no headlines, “he said.
