The Kodam Jaya Military Police have investigated several TNI personnel suspected of being involved in the destruction of the Ciracas Police in East Jakarta. Pangdam Jaya, Major General Dudung Abdurachman, said his party was still looking for other suspected perpetrators.
“Most likely, according to Dandim’s report, there were around 100 people who carried out the action. If six is not possible, we are tracking this,” Dudung was quoted as saying by Antara. Between, Saturday (8/29/2020).
Dudung said that from the results of the interim investigation, it was not certain that civilians were involved in the destruction. According to Dudung, the provisional information collected from nine witnesses was related to the only accident experienced by Prada MI.
He stressed that Prada MI suffered no beating incidents.
“The most important thing is that there are CCTV images about a single accident, there is no mob and there are CCTV images,” he said.
Dudung assures that the perpetrators of the destruction of the Ciracas police and various public facilities in East Jakarta will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the current TNI law. He received the order directly from the TNI commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
“I received orders from the TNI commander that the perpetrators be dealt with firmly in accordance with the laws in force at TNI,” Dudung said.
Currently, Prada MI is still under the care of the medical team, although the investigation process is still being carried out by Pomdam Jaya.
The attack on the Ciracas Police Department occurred in the early hours of this morning. Several vehicles and buildings of the Ciracas Police Department were damaged and burned. Three people were reportedly injured in the attack, two of whom were treated at the hospital.
Danpuspom TNI Major General Eddy Rate Muis said 10 witnesses had been questioned as of tonight. He did not specify who the ten people were. However, what is clear, according to him, is that the witness is someone who knows about the attack on the Ciracas Police.
“As of tonight, 10 witnesses have been questioned,” Maj. Gen. Eddy said during a press conference at TNI headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Saturday (8/29).
