Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Police headquarters stated that he would not give permission for the activities of 212 Alumni Union Reunion (PA 212) which is scheduled to be held at the National Monument.

The head of the National Police Public Information Office (Karopenmas), Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said the decision was in line with the order of the national police chief, General Idham Azis, to ban any activity that provokes large crowds.

“We do not allow, we do not grant permission for the crowd,” Awi told reporters at the National Police headquarters, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/17).

Not only that, Awi said, any activity that could potentially cause a crowd would be prohibited by the police. If it still holds, the police will disband.

Awi said that the Chief of the National Police emphasized that each Head of Regional Units (Kasatwil) of each level of the National Police could act decisively and not hesitate to ensure health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“If there are still parties gathering people, the leadership has clearly said to dissolve immediately. That is the order of the leadership, of course,” Awi said.

The plan for the 212th Meeting remained firm since Rizieq Shihab’s return to Indonesia on November 10. The plan received criticism from various circles because it was carried out during the corona virus pandemic.

However, PA 212 President Bernard Abdul Jabbar is adamant about the plan to hold a 212 meeting in Monas. He argued that if implemented, the 212th Meeting would be held in accordance with health protocols.

Long before the plan, there were several collective activities created by FPI cs. As a result, the Chief of the National Police dismissed the Chief of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Insp. General Nana Sudjana and the Chief of the West Java Regional Police, Inspector General Rudy Sufahradi.

In addition, the Chief of National Police also transferred Kombes Heru Novianto from the post of Chief of Police of the Central Jakarta Metro, and AKBP Roland Ronaldy from the post of Chief of Police of Bogor.
