Jakarta –
The Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) was dissolved by the government, but not long after its founders re-declared their organization as the United Islamic Front. What did the police say?
“All citizens can carry out an activity or establish an organization,” said National Police Public Relations Chief Inspector General Argo Yuwono at Police Headquarters, Police Headquarters, Jalan Trunojoyo, South Jakarta, on Friday (01/01/2021).
Argo said the rules for establishing an organization already exist. He invited anyone to establish an original organization based on the rules that had been established.
“Of course there are many existing rules, which already exist in the government, for example the Indonesian government, there are rules, please use those rules as the basis for establishing an organization,” he continued.
As is known, the government has officially banned the FPI. People who have been in the FPI later declared a group called the Islamic United Front, on Wednesday (12/30).
The statement from the Islamic United Front was conveyed through a written press release. The organization is also abbreviated as FPI. FPI said the symbols and logos would follow soon.
“The information is the Islamic Unity Front, shortly FPI. There will be a symbol and logo that will follow,” said FPI lawyer Aziz Yanuar via text message on Friday (1/1/2021).
“You can dissolve the Islamic Defenders Front. But you can never dissolve truth and justice,” Aziz continued.
