Lampung Police Chief of Public Relations, Kombes Pol. Zahwani Pandra Arsyad said the suspect terrorist Upik Lawanggaalias Taufik Bulaga lives in a place away from the residents’ houses.
The suspect’s home, Pandra continued, is very far from other residents, it is suspected that Upik’s activities are not known to residents there.
Apart from that, the house of suspected terrorist Upik Lawangga or better known as Udin Bebek by local residents also lives in front of a large expanse of rice fields.
“Suspect Upik Lawangga was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-Terror Team on November 23, his residence is difficult to access,” Pandra said in Central Lampung, on Saturday (12/19).
Upik was the mastermind of several terrorist bomb incidents, including the Tentena Market Bomb, Maesa Market Bomb, Gor Poso Bomb, Central Market Bomb, Nasi Tengkura Heat Pump, Sentua Kawua Bomb, and other series of acts. terrorists from 2004 to 2006.
The JI group viewed Upik as a valuable asset due to Upik’s ability to manufacture highly explosive firearms and bombs, and his military skills, such as shooting.

Previously, Densus 88 seized various evidence during Upik’s arrest, including 8 sharp weapons, a homemade firearm, a wind gun, an arrow, 13 bullets, and a 2-meter-deep bunker.
