Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

A video of alleged arson and pillage of Thamrin City, Central Jakarta circulated on social media on Tuesday (10/13). However, the Chief of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Heru Novianto, denied the information in the video.

“Nothing, it’s not true,” Heru said when confirmed, on Tuesday (10/13).

In the video uploaded by the Twitter account @kepretcebong, the crowd was seen gathering in front of the city of Thamrin. Furthermore, a fire was also seen burning in front of the building.

“Looting in the city of Thamrin,” read the statement in the cargo.

Meanwhile, Kapolsek Tanah Abang AKBP Raden Muhammad Jauhari explained that there was friction between the masses and the security forces during the action of 1310 led by PA 212 and friends of the National Anti-Communist Alliance (ANAK) NKRI.

“It was only the dumping of the Gambir and Menteng masses to Tanah Abang, then they were intercepted by our troops, there was already friction, no looting, nothing,” he said.

In the friction, Jauhari said, the police had fired tear gas to scare away the crowd.

“Just firing tear gas, so there is no burning or looting,” he said.

Furthermore, Jauhari stated that the current situation around the city of Thamrin is auspicious. He said his party had also coordinated with local community leaders to carry out security.

“Everything is safe, we have coordinated with community leaders in the city of Thamrin to protect their respective citizens,” he said.
