Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Police found no element of illegal or criminal offenses in the narratives of a series of billboards from the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT) Rizieq Shihab in various regions.

Hundreds of billboards calling for people to carry out a moral revolution were scattered in various parts of Jakarta. The billboards were taken down by a joint team from TNI / Polri and Satpol PP because they were found to have violated the rules.

“What was the criminal incident? It all came out of there. Use the criminal incident first, or was there an act against the law? Is there a report or not?” the Chief of the Police Public Information Office (Karo Penmas), Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, told reporters on Thursday (11/26).

He explained that law enforcement officers have a set of binding rules when handling a case. Where, there are a series of crimes that must be met before investigating a particular case.

In this case, Awi said, his party is governed by the Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP) and the Criminal Code (KUHP), as well as various other regulations.

“The police work as agents of the law, we also have rules,” he said.

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Pol Awi Setiyono, briefed journalists on the title of the case of the burning of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) building at the Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Thursday ( 10/1/2020). Police co-investigators have carried out the title of the Attorney General's building arson case that was carried out together with AGO prosecutors and led by Polri's Chief of Criminal Investigation, Komjen Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo. However, Awi said that his party would still help Satpol PP if they found violations of local regulations in the installation of billboards in Jakarta.

He explained that each institution already has its respective duties and main functions, which requires coordination between institutions.

“We are proportionate regarding the banner installation issues,” he said.

“It should be noted that the control of the banners is regulated in the regional regulations of each region. Whose executor of the law is Satpol PP ”, he added.

Previously, the Chief of Information of the Regional Military Command, Lieutenant Colonel Arh Herwin Budi Saputra, considered that the banner with the image of Rizieq Shihab contained the meaning of provocation.

At least, the Kodam noted that there were around 900 banners bearing Rizieq’s image that were lowered by TNI soldiers along with a joint apparatus during the past two months.

“What happens to Indonesia until there is a moral revolution? It contains provocation,” he said on Monday (11/23).
