The victim who made the transaction sent money to an account that police said was an escrow account.
However, the goods paid for have never been accepted by the victim.
After verifying ownership of the accounts, the police discovered that the accounts were controlled by the four suspects located in Aceh and Medan.
Awi said the four met in cyberspace.
According to police records, the total loss due to this case was more than Rs 100 million. The perpetrators then used the money for entertainment.
“The proceeds of the money from online fraud by the suspects turned out to be for fun, to buy vegetables, to buy hand phone, buy watches, and others, “he said.

Some time ago, through a tweet on Twitter, Kaesang admitted to being a ‘victim of fraud’ at the auction.
Quoted from Tribunnews.com, the deception chronology begins when the deceiver with Username The only BCA account (@luckycatsauction) contacted Kaesang via direct message, also known as DM Instagram, on Sunday (8/30).
The account notifies that Kaesang won the auction and you must send money to your account within 1×24 hours.

However, Kaesang doubts that the auction item can still be redeemed because 1×24 hours have passed.
Kaesang also requested that the auction item could be shipped and paid for in cash if the goods arrived or cash on delivery (COD) or not.
Furthermore, Kaesang also knows that the account number ordered by DM is different from the account of the actual auction account @luckycatauction.
Knowing that he was being the subject of a fraud, Kaesang attended to the perpetrators and even asked them to check his Instagram account.
After that, the scammer realized that he had been trying to deceive President Joko Widodo’s youngest son. The author immediately apologized repeatedly and declared an error.
