JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Police have found the identity of a group of cyclists who entered the road at kilometer (Km) 46 of the Jagorawi toll, on Sunday (9/13/2020).

The seven riders with the initials SO, WT, MY, UM, AS, AF and NS are residents of Bekasi, West Java.

“It is true that SO and six other colleagues were part of the group of cyclists who entered the highway. Their confession was that they entered the highway because they did not know it was a highway,” said the head of the Jagorawi Highway Patrol (PJR ) Toll Jagorawi Korlantas Polri, Kompol Fitrisia Kamila Tasran in his statement, Tuesday (9/15/2020).

Fitrisia said that based on the information, SO entered the turnpike because he was careless and lacked concentration due to fatigue while chasing the group.

“So that you don’t see any bicycle signs, it’s forbidden to enter,” he said.

Fitrisia explained that the identity of the group of cyclists who entered the highway was revealed after visiting the home of AR, one of the people who participated in the cycling activity.

AR, a resident of Pamulang, South Tangerang, admitted that he was invited by his colleague with the initials WO from Bekasi, West Jawat.

Cycling activity began at 7.30 WIB from the 45 km rest area to a cafe located not far from your load.

“Upon their return, the group divided. AR, WO and several others returned to the 45 km rest area along the town road,” he said.

AR and WO admitted that they did not know in advance that part of the group entered the toll road on their way to the loading area.

“Without knowing any of his colleagues who entered the freeway, until he saw the news on television in the afternoon,” Fitrisia said.

Now, the seven cyclists who entered the highway have confessed their actions and admitted not to repeat their actions.

“Ready to accept legal consequences for any mistakes that have occurred and committed to always being cooperative in providing information to officers,” Fitrisia concluded.

Previously, a video showing a group of cyclists entering the Jagorawi toll road went viral on social media.

The video was allegedly recorded by the motorist passing by the group of cyclists.

According to the video, cyclists are seen crossing the left shoulder of the toll road.

The left-most section of the toll road is known to be used for emergency vehicles.

Not only that, the other cyclists even crossed the right side of the toll road.

Precisely outside the right lane, the lane of vehicles that want to overtake.

The state of the toll road itself seemed deserted when the moment was recorded.
