Former Komnas HAM Commissioner Natalius Pigai officially reported to Bareskrim Polri Monday (1/2) related to an alleged racial speech related to ethnicity Minang in their teasing.
The report was presented by a Minang resident named Aznil (48) accompanied by various community organizations on behalf of DPP Pemuda Pelajar Mitra Kamtibmas (PPMK) and the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI).
“After three hours we informed Bareskrim, thank goodness Bareskrim has received the report for the disgusting or discriminatory action against the Minang tribe that said that the Minang tribe could not be president,” Aznil told reporters at the Investigation Unit Police criminal. Jakarta, Monday (1/2).
In this case, the report has been received by Bareskrim Polri with Number: LP / B / 0061 / II / 2021 / BARESKRIM / dated February 1, 2021.
Aznil thought that Pigai’s tweet saying that the people of Minang could not become president had the potential to divide the nation. Therefore, he hopes that the investigators can immediately follow up on the submitted report.
“This has the potential for division in our nation and country. This has been found in the criminal element. The principle is to protect our Homeland,” he said.
Aznil’s legal authority, Bambang Sripujo suspects that Pigai violates Article 45a Paragraph 2 Juncto Article 28 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 19 of 2016 on Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) or the Article 16 Juncto Article 4 letter b of Law No. 40 of 2008 on the Elimination of Discrimination, Race and Ethnicity.
“It is clear on Twitter that Natalius Pigai mentions the Minang ethnicity. Natalius Pigai should have learned that the capital city was in West Sumatra, when the people of West Sumatra were not allowed to become president,” Bambang explained.
Previously, Pigai, via the Twitter account @ NataliusPigai2, uploaded a media report titled “Snowball for the salute of women, West Sumatra support the state of Pancasila.”
In his upload, Pigai added a comment that Minang is anti-Pancasila and does not dream of becoming president because he is not labeled Pancasila. The tweet itself was uploaded on September 5, 2020.
Pigai also mentioned the name of an Indonesian member of parliament, Fadli Zon, whose hopes of becoming president were already closed. As is well known, Fadli Zon is the president of the DPP, the Minang Family Association (IKP).
