Rejang Lebong (ANTARA) – Rejang Lebong Resort Police Chief Polda Bengkulu AKBP Puji Prayitno said the youth group that attacked two TNI members in the area and caused the death of one of them had already been arrested.
“There have been 10 people arrested, 8 of whom were named suspects and another 2, namely D and JY as witnesses because at the time of the incident they were both buying cigarettes,” AKBP Puji Prayitno said in his statement in Rejang Lebong, Saturday.
He explained that the suspects against Prada Yopan Setiandi (deceased) and Pratu Agus Salim (seriously injured) who served at Yonif 144 Jaya Yudha Curup took place at Setia Negara Curup Field, on Thursday night (12/31) around 11.30 p.m. WIB , were successful were arrested by police officers from Rejang Lebong and Kodim 0409 / Rejang Lebong on Friday morning and Friday evening (1/1).

“For safety and conduct, the perpetrators are currently being held in the Bengkulu Regional Police Detention Center for prosecution in accordance with applicable law,” he explained.
As for the 8 people who have been named as suspects, Puji said, five people were arrested first, namely RE, BO, RO, AK and DA as witnesses. Then on Friday night, 5 more people, namely RA, RE, KP, JE and JY as witnesses.
Based on the results of the interrogation by the investigating officers, they are known to have their respective roles, such as the BO suspect who stabbed the late Prada Yopan Setiadi, then the RA suspect who stabbed the victim, Pratu Agus Salim.

Meanwhile, 6 other suspects played a role as perpetrators of beatings and kicks, both against the victims Prada Yopan Setiadi and Pratu Agus Salim.
He added that the incident carried out by youth groups against TNI members in the area that was allegedly due to the misunderstanding was very regrettable and he hoped that parents would always supervise their growing children in their daily interactions.
“The results of our analysis of current perpetrators indicate a strong desire to show their essence by recruiting children who want to reach adulthood to do genks that lead to actions that are not good and tend to be negative,” said AKBP Puji Prayitno.
