Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Police search for perpetrators stab and hostage Pelepat Police Chief AKP Suhendri and seven members of the Bungo Regional Police during a raid on unlicensed gold mining activities in Batu Kerbau Village, Pelapat District, Bungo District, Jambi. Ahmad said that police assisted by TNI members had managed to free the police personnel who were held hostage. Suhendri who suffered a stab wound can now move again. While two units of local police vehicles used to carry out raids were damaged by the crowd.
“All the members taken hostage are in good health and safe,” he continued.
Furthermore, Ahmad explained that the stabbing incident started when Suhendri together with police officers carried out a PETI raid on Batu Kerbau Village, Pelepat District, Bungo Regency, Jambi. Residents feel they do not accept raids by members of the police.
This protest then prompted residents to ask the police to leave their territory. The situation changed not conducive. Suhendri then stabbed and took seven members of the Bungo District Police hostage.
