Paul Pogba shared his experience overcoming the effects of COVID-19 infection. The Manchester United midfielder admitted he needed time to regain his physical condition.
Paul Pogba was infected with COVID-19 last August. He was also excluded from the French national team and had to undergo quarantine.
But even after being free of the virus, Pogba was still feeling the effects. The 27-year-old midfielder struggled to regain his physique and fitness.
This automatically affects performance. He was underperformed in the first three Premier League games, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed he was a starter and MU played poorly.
Manchester United lost 1-3 to Crystal Palace, won ‘lucky’ over Brighton & Hove Albion, then humiliated Tottenham Hotspur 1-6. Then Pogba was left out of the starting eleven in three of the next four games.
It was believed that the French international would start again and played the full game when United came back and beat West Ham United 3-1, scoring a goal. It was his first goal in the league this season.
“It’s weird, it’s hard to explain because you won’t understand. Even in training, I would tell the physical trainer that I felt weird,” he said. MUTV and quoted Sky sports.
“It’s not like me. I get tired really quickly and get out of breath quickly. The first game of the season, I can’t run. I tried then.”
“I told the coach I was going to start the game and let’s see the progress. But I was out of breath and it took me a long time to get back to my proper fitness level and recover physically,” added Paul Pogba.
